Control Device Removal and Installation: Removal

CAUTION: Make sure that parking brake is applied before removal/installation.

Place the selector lever in the "N" position.
Remove the center console assembly. Refer to "INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY ".
Disconnect the A/T device harness connector (1).
Remove the key interlock cable from the control device assembly. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".

Remove the bolts (A) from the control device assembly (1).
Remove exhaust front tube, center muffler and heat plates. Refer to "EXHAUST MANIFOLD ".

Remove the plate (1) from the control device assembly.

Remove the lock plate (1) from the control cable (2).

Remove the control cable (2) from the control device assembly.

Insert flat-bladed screwdrivers at points (A) and (B) as shown, and press both tabs (E) and (F) at the front (C) and rear (D) slightly toward the center of the control device assembly to remove the control device assembly from the underside of the vehicle.
