Control Valve Assembly and Accumulators: Removal

  1. Drain ATF from transaxle.
  2. Remove oil pan and gasket.
    • Always replace oil pan bolts as they are self-sealing bolts.

  3. Disconnect A/T solenoid harness connector.

  4. Remove snap ring from terminal cord assembly harness terminal body.
  5. Remove terminal cord assembly harness from transmission case by pushing on terminal body.

  6. Remove control valve assembly by removing fixing bolts , and .

    Bolt length, number and location are shown in the illustration.

    • Be careful not to drop manual valve and servo release accumulator return spring. 
  7. Disassemble and inspect control valve assembly if necessary. Refer to CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY .

  8. Remove servo release and N-D accumulators by applying compressed air if necessary.
    • Hold each piston with a rag.
