Rear Cooling Unit: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    HINT:

    At the time of installation, please refer to the following item. Evacuate air from refrigeration system.

    Charge system with refrigerant and inspect the leakage of refrigerant.

    Specified Amount: 

    Dual A/C: 900 +/- 50 g (31.74 +/- 1.76 oz.) 

  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION 
  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK 
  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH, RH 
  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH, RH 
  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM LH, RH 
  7. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH LH, RH 
  8. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL 
  9. REMOVE ROOM PARTITION TRIM 
  10. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT 
  11. REMOVE DECK SIDE BOARD LH, RH 
  12. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM 
  13. DISCONNECT LIQUID AND SUCTION TUBES. 

    Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both tubes.

    Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

    HINT:

    At the time of installation, please refer to the following item. Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.

  14. REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT 
    1. W/ Cool box models:

      Remove the 4 cool box set bolts.

    2. Remove the duct No. 3.

    3. Remove the duct No. 5.

    4. Remove the duct No. 1, 2, 4.

    5. Disconnect the connector.
    6. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.
    7. Remove the rear cooling unit.
