- Do not reuse O-ring.
- Apply ATF to O-ring.
- Install O-ring in oil pump assembly.
- Install bearing race in oil pump assembly.
- Install oil pump assembly in transmission case.
- Apply recommended sealant (Genuine RTV silicone sealant or equivalent to oil pump assembly as shown in illustration.
- Tighten oil pump mounting bolts to specified torque.
- Do not reuse O-ring.
- Apply ATF to O-ring.
- Install O-ring in input clutch assembly.
- Install converter housing in transmission case.
- Converter housing mounting bolt: 52 N.m (5.3 kg-m, 38 ft-lb)
- Self-sealing bolt: 61 N.m (6.2 kg-m, 45 ft-lb)
- Make sure that brake band does not close turbine revolution sensor hole.
- Install A/T fluid temperature sensor 2 in bracket.
- Install A/T fluid temperature sensor 2 (with bracket) in control valve assembly.
- Install control valve assembly.
- Install control valve assembly in transmission case.
CAUTION:
- Hang down terminal cord assembly and revolution sensor harness toward outside so as not to disturb installation of control valve assembly.
- Make sure that turbine sensor securely installs turbine sensor hole.
- Assemble it so that manual valve cutout is engaged with manual plate projection.
- Install bolts A, B and C in control valve assembly.
- Tighten bolt 1, 2 and 3 temporarily to prevent dislocation. After that tighten them in order (1 --> 2 --> 3), and then tighten other bolts.
- 7.9 N.m (0.81 kg-m, 70 in-lb)
- Install control valve assembly in transmission case.
- Install terminal cord assembly connectors in bracket.
- Connect terminal cord assembly connectors.
- Connect A/T fluid temperature sensor 2 connector.
- Connect revolution sensor connector.
- Securely fasten terminal harness with terminal clips.
- Install oil pan in transmission case.
- Do not reuse oil pan gasket.
- Install it in the direction to align hole positions.
- Install oil pan gasket in oil pan.
- Install it so that drain plug comes to the position as shown in the figure.
- Be careful not to pinch harnesses.
- Install oil pan (with oil pan gasket) in transmission case.
- Tighten oil pan mounting bolts to the specified torque in numerical order shown in the figure after temporarily tightening them.
CAUTION:CAUTION:CAUTION: Do not reuse oil pan mounting bolts. - Install drain plug in oil pan.
- Install torque converter.
- Pour ATF into torque converter.
- Approximately 2 liter (2-1/8 US qt, 1-3/4 Imp qt) of fluid is required for a new torque converter.
- When reusing old torque converter, add the same amount of fluid as was drained.
- Install torque converter while aligning notches of torque converter with notches of oil pump.
- Measure distance "A" to check that torque converter is in proper position.
- Distance "A": 25.0 mm (0.98 in) or more
- Pour ATF into torque converter.

Apply petroleum jelly to bearing race.

Apply ATF to oil pump bush.
CAUTION:
Complete remove all moisture, oil and old sealant, etc. From the oil pump mounting bolts and oil pump mounting bolt mounting surfaces.

Apply ATF to oil pump bushing.

Do not reuse self-sealing bolt.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse drain plug gasket.
