Rear Caliper: Assembly

- Temporarily tighten bleeder screw to disc brake caliper. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to a NEW piston seal and install seal to disc brake caliper. Also apply to piston and install to disc brake caliper. Do not screw piston forcibly into disc brake caliper.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to a NEW caliper boot and install to disc brake caliper. Install boot securely to grooves of caliper and piston. Using a screwdriver, install NEW set ring. Install disc brake caliper mounting with bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install rear disc brake pad and anti-squeal shims with wear indicator facing downwards. Using a hexagon wrench, install upper caliper slide pin and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to seal surface of NEW bush dust boot and install to upper cylinder slide pin. Also apply to NEW cylinder slide bush and install to lower part of disc brake caliper.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to upper caliper slide pin and install disc brake caliper to upper caliper slide pin. Also apply to lower caliper slide pin and install caliper slide pin to disc brake cylinder. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect NEW gasket and flexible hose with union bolt and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill reservoir with brake fluid and bleed master cylinder and brake lines. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Check for brake fluid leakage. Install rear wheels and tighten lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
