Master Cylinder: Assembly

  1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease on NEW No. 1 and No. 2 piston sub-assembly and install straight in. If inserted at an angle, there is a possibility cylinder bore could be damaged. Be careful not to damage rubber lips on pistons.
  2. On vehicles with VSC, install a straight pin. Insert No. 2 piston with groove positioning horizontally. On vehicles without VSC, push in piston and install a NEW gasket and NEW piston stopper bolt. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Push in piston and install snap ring with snap ring pliers.
  3. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease on a NEW "O" ring and install to master cylinder. Install the master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
