Transmission Control Cable Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put the cable into the body.
    2. Install the No. 2 shift cable grommet retainer to the floor shift cable.
    3. Install the floor shift cable as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Securely engage the claws.

    4. Install the No. 2 shift cable grommet retainer with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf)

  2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the cable to the control cable clamp.

    2. Connect the cable to the bracket with the clip.

    3. Temporarily install the cable to the control shaft lever with the nut.
  3. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install exhaust pipe (See INSTALLATION ).
  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  7. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
  8. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
  9. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
