Igniter Signal Circuit

NOTE:
If not using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 3.
- Check the tachometer value. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Enter into the DATA LIST function of the hand-held tester. When driving the vehicle, check that the parameter value of Tachometer changes on the screen of the hand-held tester. If the results are OK, replace the combination meter. See INSTRUMENT PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, go to then next step.
- Check the harness and connector between the combination meter and ECM. If the results are OK, check and repair the ignition coil and wiring harness. If the results are not good, repair or replace the harness or connector.
- Check the harness and connector between the combination meter and ECM. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, repair or replace the harness or connector.
- Check the igniter circuit. See DTC P1300, DTC P1305, DTC P1310, DTC P1315, DTC P1320 OR DTC P1325 under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - RX300 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If the results are OK, replace the combination meter. See INSTRUMENT PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, check and repair the ignition coil and wiring harness.
