Reclining Motor Circuit Inspection

  1. CHECK SEAT RECLINING MECHANISM 

    Check the following.

    • Operation malfunction caused by an interference with the center pillar or center console
    • Operation malfunction and interference with other parts by poor installation

    OK or NG

    1. OK : GO TO 2.
    2. NG : Repair the malfunctioning part and check again.
  2. CHECK FUNCTION 

    With CONSULT-II 

    Check operation with "SEAT RECLINING" in ACTIVE TEST.

    CHECK FUNCTION CHART

    Test item Description
    SEAT RECLINING The reclining motor is activated by receiving the drive signal.

    Without CONSULT-II 

    GO TO 3.

    OK or NG

    1. OK : Reclining motor circuit is OK.
    2. NG : GO TO 3.
  3. CHECK RECLINING MOTOR CIRCUIT HARNESS CONTINUITY 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect driver seat control unit connector and reclining motor connector.
    3. Check continuity between driver seat control unit connector B304 terminals 36 (G), 44 (LG) and reclining motor connector B311 terminals 36 (G), 44 (LG).
      1. 36 (G) - 36 (G): Continuity should exist. 
      2. 44 (LG) - 44 (LG): Continuity should exist. 
    4. Check continuity between driver seat control unit connector B304 terminals 36 (G), 44 (LG) and ground.
      1. 36 (G) - Ground: Continuity should not exist. 
      2. 44 (LG) - Ground: Continuity should not exist. 

    OK or NG

    1. OK : GO TO 4.
    2. NG : Repair or replace harness between driver seat control unit and reclining motor.

  4. CHECK DRIVER SEAT CONTROL UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL 
    1. Connect the driver seat control unit and reclining motor connector.
    2. Check voltage between driver seat control unit connector and ground.

    OK or NG

    1. OK : Replace reclining motor.
    2. NG : Replace driver seat control unit.
