With Consult Tester

  1. After system is repaired, connect negative battery cable. Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Press START button on CONSULT tester. Select AIR BAG. Select SELF-DIAG (CURRENT). If NO DTC IS DETECTED is displayed on CONSULT tester, go to next step. If fault message is present, problem has not been repaired or another problem is present. Go to FAULT MESSAGES  . Complete required repair.
  2. Touch BACK on CONSULT tester. Touch SELECT SYSTEM. Touch SELF-DIAG (PAST). Ensure no fault message is present. If any malfunction is displayed, press ERASE. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CONSULT tester from DLC. Turn ignition on. Verify AIR BAG warning light is functioning properly. See AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT  under SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
