Power Supply Circuit Inspection

  1. CHECK FUSE 
    • Check that the following fuses of the BOSE speaker amp. and Audio unit are not blown.
    FUSE CHECK CHART

    Unit Terminals Signal name Fuse No.
    Audio unit 6 Battery power 38
    10 Ignition switch ACC or ON 6
    BOSE speaker amp. 1 Battery power 38

    OK or NG

    1. OK : GO TO 2.
    2. NG : If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of problem before installing new fuse. Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION .
  2. POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT CHECK 
    1. Disconnect audio unit and BOSE speaker amp. connector.
    2. Check voltage between the audio unit and ground.
      AUDIO UNIT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT CHECK CHART

      Connector Terminal (wire color)
      Audio unit M44 6 (Y) Ground Battery voltage Battery voltage Battery voltage

    3. Check voltage between BOSE speaker amp. and ground.
    BOSE SPEAKER AMP POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT CHECK CHART

    Unit Terminal No. OFF ACC ON
    (+) (-)
    Connector Terminal (wire color)
    BOSE speaker amp. B114 1 (Y) Ground Battery voltage Battery voltage Battery voltage

    OK or NG

    1. OK :
      • Inspection end. (Base system)
      • GO TO 3 (BOSE system)
    2. NG :
      • Check connector housings for disconnected or loose terminals.
      • Repair harness or connector.
  3. GROUND CIRCUIT CHECK 

    Check continuity between BOSE speaker amp. harness connector B114 terminal 17 (B) and ground.

    Continuity should exist. 

    OK or NG

    1. OK : Inspection end.
    2. NG :
      • Check connector housings for disconnected or loose terminals.
      • Repair harness or connector.
