DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Infiniti G35. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before proceeding, ensure ambient temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C) and battery voltage is more than 11 volts at idle.
NOTE: If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
  2. Stop engine and wait at least 5 seconds.
  3. Turn ignition on and select HO2S1 (B1) P1144 of HO2S1 or HO2S1 (B2) P1164 of HO2S1 in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II.
  4. Press START.
    5. NOTE: Never raise engine speed more than 3600 RPM after this step. If engine speed limit is exceeded, repeat step  5 .
  5. Start engine and let idle for at least 3 minutes.
  6. When following conditions are met, TESTING will be displayed on CONSULT-II screen. Maintain conditions continuously until TESTING changes to COMPLETED (it will take about 40 seconds or more).
    • ENG SPEED: 1200-2600 RPM.
    • Vehicle speed: less than 62 MPH (100 km/h).
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 2.5-12.0 milliseconds.
    • Selector lever: suitable position.
    NOTE: If TESTING is not displayed after 5 minutes, retry from step  2 . If TESTING is displayed, go to next step.
  7. Ensure OK is displayed after touching SELF-DIAG RESULTS. If NG is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
