DTC Confirmation Test

To set DTC, turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR. Wait at least 10 seconds. If first trip DTC is detected, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

NOTE: Perform procedure for Malfunction "A"  first. If first trip DTC cannot be confirmed, perform procedure for Malfunction "B"  . If no problem exits using procedure for Malfunction "B"  , perform procedure for Malfunction "C"  .

Malfunction "A":

  1. Turn ignition on.
  2. Select DATA MONITOR with Scan Tool.
  3. If first trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE 

Malfunction "B":

  1. Turn ignition on and wait at least 1 second.
  2. Select DATA MONITOR with Scan Tool.
  3. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Then turn ignition on.
  4. If first trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE 

Malfunction "C":

  1. Turn ignition on and wait at least 1 second.
  2. Select DATA MONITOR with Scan Tool.
  3. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Then turn ignition on.
  4. Repeat step  3 32 times.
  5. If first trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
