Removal & Installation: Starter

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove intake manifold. See ENGINE MECHANICAL - TITAN - 5.6L article under ENGINE.
  3. Disconnect starter harness connectors.
  4. Remove starter motor mounting bolts. See Fig 1.
  5. Remove starter motor from under vehicle.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
