DTC Confirmation Test
Malfunction is detected when improper voltage is sent to ECM from EVAP Control System Pressure Sensor (EVAP-CSPS). Possible causes are:
- EVAP-CSPS circuit open or shorted.
- Blockage or leak in hose to EVAP-CSPS.
- Defective EVAP-CSPS.
- Defective EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve (EVAP-CVCV).
- Defective EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve (EVAP-CPVCSV).
- Defective EVAP canister.
- Faulty hose between EVAP-CVCV and water separator.
Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Using a DVOM, backprobe ECM harness connector and measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 82 (Green/Orange wire) at ECM harness connector (fuel tank temperature sensor signal). See Figure and Figure . Ensure voltage is less than 4.2 volts. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Start engine and wait at least 20 seconds. If first trip DTC is set, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If first trip DTC is not set, problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
