Security Indicator Light Check
- Check SECURITY Indicator Light Output Signal
Turn ignition off. Disconnect Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 31 (Gray/Red wire) at SECU harness connector. See Figure
. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. If battery voltage is present, SECURITY indicator light is okay. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
- Check SECURITY Indicator Light Bulb
Access SECURITY indicator light bulb to inspect. Replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
- Check SECURITY Indicator Light Power Supply Circuit
Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect SECURITY indicator light harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Red/Black wire) at SECURITY indicator light harness connector. If battery voltage is present, check for open or short between SECURITY indicator light and SECU. If battery voltage is not present, check condition of fuse No. 12 (10-amp), located in instrument panel fuse block. Check for open or short in circuit between SECURITY indicator light and fuse. Repair as necessary.
