Test No. 6

NOTE: If Nissan CONSULT scan tool is not available, begin testing at step 2).

  1. Check Hazard Reminder

Using scan tool in ACTIVE TEST mode, check operation of hazard warning lights. If hazard warning lights operate, hazard reminder is okay. If hazard warning lights do not operate, check multi-remote control relay. Replace if necessary. If relay is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check Multi-Remote Control Relay Power Supply

Turn ignition off. Disconnect multi-remote control relay. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Green/Orange wire) at multi-remote control relay connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fuse No. 11 (10-amp), located in fuse block. Check for open or short in wiring harness between multi-remote control relay and fuse. Repair as necessary.
  3. Check Multi-Remote Control Relay Circuit

Using DVOM, measure voltage between terminals No. 3 (Green/Orange wire) and No. 5 (Green/Black wire) at multi-remote control relay connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Battery voltage should be present. Measure voltage between terminals No. 6 (Green/Orange wire) and No. 7 (Green/Yellow wire) at multi-remote control relay connector. Battery voltage should be present. If voltage is as specified, check for open or short in Orange wire between multi-remote control relay and BCM. If voltage is not as specified, check for open or short in multi-remote control relay wiring harness. Repair as necessary.
