Test No. 4
NOTE:
If Nissan CONSULT scan tool is not available, begin testing at step 2).
- Check Transmitter Operation
Using scan tool in DATA MONITOR mode, check status of trunk open signal. If scan tool displays TRUNK BTN-CON ON with trunk button pressed for more than one second, go to step 3). If scan tool display is not as specified, replace transmitter. - Check Remote Operation
Check trunk open signal in Mode II (switch signal monitor). See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS article. If trunk open signal is detected, go to step 4). If trunk open signal is not detected, replace transmitter. - Check Trunk Lid Opener Circuit
Using scan tool in ACTIVE TEST mode, select TRUNK OPEN S/V. Actuate trunk lid opener. If trunk lid opens, replace LCU 05. If trunk lid does not open, check for open or short in wiring harness between trunk lid actuator and LCU 05. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. - Check Trunk Lid Opener Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect LCU 05 harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 (Purple/Yellow wire) at LCU 05 harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, replace LCU 05. If battery voltage is not present, check for open or short in wiring harness between trunk lid actuator and LCU 05. Repair as necessary.
