Anti-Theft System: Operation

To set anti-theft system in armed mode, remove ignition key, close all doors, trunk and hood, and then lock doors using key or multi-remote control. SECURITY indicator light will illuminate for 30 seconds indicating pre-armed mode. The indicator will then turn off, pause briefly, then blink once every 2.4 seconds indicating system is in armed mode.

To cancel armed mode, unlock doors or trunk lid using key or multi-remote control. Note that if trunk lid is open, armed mode is only temporarily canceled. System will be reset to armed mode after trunk lid is closed.

Alarm will go off if any of the following conditions occurred while system is in armed mode:

• Engine hood or trunk lid is opened using the hood or trunk lid release.
• Door(s) is unlocked without key or multi-remote control.

If alarm is set off, horn will sound, headlights will blink and starter motor will not operate. To shut off alarm, unlock door or trunk using key or multi-remote control.
