Power & Ground Circuits

  1. Check System Ground Circuit

Check continuity between SECU harness connector terminal No. 10 and ground. See Fig 1 . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check chassis ground point (on far right side of instrument panel). If ground connection is okay, repair open ground (Black) wire.

  2. Check System Power Circuit

Backprobe for voltage between terminals No. 1 and No. 10 at SECU harness connector. Battery voltage should exist with ignition switch in any position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check fusible link "F" (located in fusible link box) and repair if necessary. Also ensure circuit breaker has not tripped. If fusible link and circuit breaker are okay, repair open White/Blue wire between circuit breaker and SECU harness connector.
  3. Check Ignition Power Circuit

Turn ignition on. Backprobe for voltage between terminals No. 17 and No. 10 at SECU harness connector. If battery voltage exists, power and ground circuits are okay. If battery voltage does not exist, check fuse No. 10 (15-amp) and replace if necessary. If fuse is okay, repair open Blue wire between fuse panel and SECU harness connector.
