Air Injection Valve

Apply vacuum to Air Injection Valve (AIV) vacuum motor. See Fig 1 . Apply air to air cleaner side of AIV and make sure air only flows toward exhaust manifold side. Also see appropriate AIR INJECTION VALVE diagnostic chart. Use DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS DIRECTORY table at beginning of this article to locate chart.
