Crank Angle Switch Test - Code 11

  1. Turn ignition switch to the "ON" position. Check voltage between crank angle sensor connector terminal B and ground. Battery voltage should be present. Turn ignition switch to the "OFF" position, and check resistance between terminal D and ground. Resistance should be zero ohms. If not, check harness between crank angle sensor and control unit, and harness to the battery. If okay, go to next step.
  2. With ignition switch in the "OFF" position, disconnect ECU 20-pin connector and measure the resistance between terminals No. 17 and 8. Resistance should be infinite. Connect crank angle sensor harness terminals with a jumper wire, and measure the resistance between terminals No. 17 and 8. No resistance should be present. If no good, repair or replace harness. If okay, check crank angle sensor for any damage. Visually inspect the unit. If damaged, replace. Perform self-diagnosis. If code No. 11 still flashes, replace ECU.
