SERVICE INFORMATION
The ECC control unit in the 1985.5 FEDERAL model Sentra and Pulsar NX with E16 engines has been modified from that used in the 1985 model. When replacing an ECC control unit in a 1985.5 Sentra or Pulsar NX, use only a 1985.5 control unit (P/N Manual Transmission 23710-33M21), Automatic Transmission 23710-34M21).
CAUTION:
If an ECC control unit for an earlier model is used in the 1985.5 model, the control unit will be damaged.
The beginning VIN's for 1985.5 models are shown below. 1985.5 models can also be identified by the presence of a yellow and blue label on the valve cover as shown on page EF-15.
