Fuel Injection Pump: Removal
- Disconnect battery negative terminal and drain coolant. Disconnect accelerator cable, wires, and hoses from pump. Remove pump timing belt dust cover. Rotate engine so that No. 1 piston is at TDC on compression stroke.
- Loosen pump timing belt tensioner and remove belt. Holding pulley with Tool (KV10109300), remove the nut and washer securing the injection pump pulley. See Fig 1 . Remove injection pipes from pump and cylinder head.
- Using a gear puller, disengage the sprocket from the pump shaft. Remove pump-to-bracket mounting nuts and remove pump.

NOTE:
Protect the timing belt against undue stress (twisting and bending) and oil contamination. After belt removal do not rotate crankshaft.
