Pressure Regulator Solenoid Valve

  1. Disconnect cylinder head temperature sensor harness connector and connect a lead wire between the terminals of cylinder head temperature sensor harness connector.
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose between pressure regulator and solenoid valve. Start engine and make sure that vacuum does not exist for 3 minutes. If okay, test is complete. If not, go to next step.
  3. Check voltage between terminals 14, 28 and 36 of 16 and 20 pin connectors. Turn ignition on. If there is battery voltage, test is complete. If not, check harness for continuity and repair if necessary.
  4. If harness is okay, check EFI relay for continuity as listed in EFI relay table in this article. If no good, replace relay. If okay, check pressure regulator solenoid valve for continuity, resistance should be about 30 ohms.
