Fuel Injection Pump: Installation
- Locate injection pump on engine, tighten nuts temporarily. Install pump pulley on shaft. Holding pulley with tool (KV10109300), tighten nut to 43-51 ft. lbs. (59-69 N.m).
- Ensure No. 1 cylinder is set at TDC compression stroke. Place reference mark on timing belt. Count off 23 cogs on belt and place another mark. Align reference marks with marks on camshaft pulley and injection pump pulley. See Fig 1 .
- Loosen tensioner holding nut and allow tensioner to rest against timing belt. Turn crankshaft 2 revolutions in its normal rotating direction. Tighten tensioner while holding it.
- Adjust pump timing. See ADJUSTMENTS . Tighten pump nuts securely. Install belt dust cover. Install injector pipes in order of 4, 3, 2, and 1. Bleed system using priming pump.
