Diagnosis Procedure

  1. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. Electric motor switch OFF to ON.
    2. Perform Diagnostic Trouble Code for "ABS".

    Is any DTC detected? 

    YES: Check the DTC. Refer to DTC INDEX .

    NO: GO TO  2.

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR AND TERMINAL 
    1. Electric motor switch OFF
    2. Disconnect steering angle sensor harness connector.
    3. Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.
    4. Disconnect power steering control module harness connector.
    5. Check the connector for disconnection or looseness.
    6. Check the terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO  3.

    NO: Repair or replace harness, connector, or terminal, securely lock the connector.

  3. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. Connect steering angle sensor harness connector.
    2. Connect power steering control module harness connector.
    3. Connect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.
    4. Electric motor switch OFF to ON.
    5. Erase self-diagnostic results for "EPS/DAST 3".
    6. Pull the parking brake switch.
      NOTE: Check the parking brake switch indicator is turn On.
    7. Electric motor switch OFF.
    8. Get out of the vehicle and close all doors.
    9. Wait 65 seconds.
      NOTE:
      • Check the parking brake switch indicator turn OFF  .
      • If the rear brake caliper is heated, wait an hour so that parking brake switch indicator does not turn OFF  .
    10. Electric motor switch ON.
    11. Perform Diagnostic Trouble Code for "EPS/DAST 3".

    Is DTC "C1632-86" detected? 

    YES: Replace the power steering control module (steering gear assembly). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO: INSPECTION END
