Hydraulic Pressure Test: Notes
NOTE:
Prior to this test, check that the fuel level warning light does not flash and the drive battery is charged enough. If the fuel level warning light flashes, refill the fuel tank. If the drive battery is partially discharged, recharge the battery.
- Install the following special tools at the hydraulic pressure outlet ports shown in the figure.
- Oil pressure gauge <3.0 MPa (435 psi)> (MD998330)
- Joint (MD998332)
WARNING: Observe the following safety precautions during this test.- Service technicians must not stand in front of and at the rear of the vehicle.
- Do not carry out this test while the battery is being charged.
- Close the hood securely.
- Do not touch the components other than the hydraulic pressure port.
- Lift the vehicle. Then turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to illuminate the ready indicator.
- Measure the hydraulic pressure at each measuring point in the conditions specified in the standard hydraulic pressure table, and check that the measurements are within the standard value.NOTE: If the hydraulic pressure is high with the vehicle stationary, the measured value may be incorrect. Repeat the measurement.
- If not within the standard value, replace the valve body assembly.
STANDARD HYDRAULIC PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS
| Measuring conditions | Standard value MPa (psi) | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Speed km/h (mph) | Line pressure | Control pressure | |
| When the vehicle is stationary | 0 | 0 (0) | 0 (0) |
| During driving at low or middle speed (EV drive mode or Series hybrid mode) |
55 - 65 (34 - 40) | 1.0 - 1.6 (145 - 232) | 0 |
| During driving at high speed* (Parallel hybrid mode) |
80 - 90 (50 - 56) | 1.0 - 1.7 (145 - 247) | 1.0 - 1.7 (145 - 247) |
NOTE:
*:
- If the drive mode is switched into the parallel hybrid mode, angled arrow symbol (A) will be displayed between "engine" and "tire" symbols on the multi-information display.
- If oil pressure pulsation occurs, obtain middle value.
- The hydraulic pressure should be tested when the drive mode is at a parallel hybrid run check mode.
