When installing a new column switch

With the retaining pin of the band clump pin installed, install the column switch by securely fitting the claw on the column switch into the groove on the column shaft. Then, remove the retaining pin and release the band clump pin.

When installing the removed column switch

Using a wrench or similar tool, pinch and lift the band clump pin shown in the illustration.
Install the column switch by securely fitting the claw on the column switch into the groove on the column shaft.
Release the band clump pin.
