Engine Oil

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Start the engine and allow it to warm up until the temperature of the engine coolant reaches 80 - 90°C (176 - 194°F).
    WARNING: Use care as engine oil could be hot.
  2. Remove the oil filler cap.
  3. Remove the oil drain plug to drain engine oil.
  4. Install a new oil drain plug gasket and then tighten the oil drain plug to the specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 39 ± 5 N.m (29 ± 3 ft-lb)

  5. Refill with specified quantity of engine oil.

    Specified Engine Oil: Engine oils displaying the ILSAC certification symbol ("Starburst" symbol) on the container. If these oils are not available, and API classification SN or higher can be used. 

    Total quantity (Includes volume inside engine oil filter): 3.0 dm 3  (3.11 quarts) 

    NOTE: Mitsubishi Motors Genuine 0W-20 Synthetic Engine Oil is recommended for optimum fuel economy and cold weather starting.
    If Mitsubishi Motors Genuine 0W-20 Synthetic Engine Oil is not available, 5W-20 grade oils displaying the ILSAC certification can be used.
    However, Mitsubishi Motors Genuine 0W-20 Synthetic Engine Oil should be used at the next oil change to maintain optimum fuel economy and cold weather starting.
  6. Install the oil filler cap.
  7. Let the engine run for a few minutes.
  8. Stop the engine, and then check the engine oil level using the engine oil dipstick after a few minutes.
