Sensor, TMAP-Intake Manifold: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The 2.0L engine utilizes a Temperature and Manifold Absolute Pressure (TMAP) sensor (3).
The TMAP sensor is located on the top section of the intake manifold. The TMAP is the number one contributor to fuel injector Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Signal voltages change in relation to engine vacuum and temperature.
It is used to determine the following:
- Barometric pressure
- Intake Manifold air temperature
- Engine manifold vacuum/pressure
