Selector Lever Operation Check
- Apply the parking brake, and operate the selector lever to each of the positions, then check that the selector lever operates smoothly with secure feel of engagement.
- Check that the Ready indicator illuminates when the selector lever is in the P position, and that it does not illuminate when in other positions.
- Have the Ready indicator illuminated, and release the parking brake, then operate the selector lever from the N position to D, Eco, or B position, and check that the vehicle moves forward. Also, check that the vehicle moves rearward when the selector lever is shifted to the R position.
- Have the Ready indicator turned OFF.
- Turn the electric motor switch ON, and move the selector lever from the P position to R position. The back-up lamp should illuminate.NOTE: Because the misoperation preventive device is equipped, the selector lever cannot be moved out of the P position unless the electric motor switch is turned to the position other than LOCK (OFF) and the brake pedal is depressed.
