Crankcase Ventilation System Check
- Remove the ventilation hose from the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve.
- Remove the PCV valve from the rocker cover.
- Reinstall the PCV valve at the ventilation hose.
- Start the engine and run at idle.
- Place a finger at the opening of the PCV valve and check that vacuum of the intake manifold is felt.NOTE: At this moment, the plunger in the PCV valve moves back and forth.
- If vacuum is not felt, clean the PCV valve or replace it. Inspect the vacuum supply hose and vacuum supply hose port for restriction or plugged condition.
- Tighten the PCV valve to the specified torque.
Tighting torque: 10 ± 2 N.m (87 ± 17 in-lb)
