Steering Angle Check

CAUTION: After adjusting the steering angle, always perform calibration to make ABS/ASC-ECU learn the neutral position of the steering wheel sensor. Refer to STEERING WHEEL SENSOR CALIBRATION < Vehicles with ASC >
.
  1. Place the front wheel on a turning radius gauge and measure the steering angle.

    Standard value:

    ITEM SPECIFICATIONS CHART

    Outside wheel (reference value) 32°20'

  2. When the calibrated value is outside the standard value, improper toe-in adjustment may be present. Check and adjust the toe-in correctly if necessary.

    Standard value: 1 ± 2 mm (0.04 ± 0.09 inch)

To adjust the toe-in, remove the clip of the tie-rod, loosen the locking nut, and then rotate the left tie-rod and right tie-rod in the reverse direction by an equal amount.

  3. Recheck the steering angle.
