SERVICE INFORMATION

FAST/KOS KEYS INOP - 2007 - 08 Outlander, 2008 Lancer w/Navi . Vehicles equipped with the navigation system provide the option for customers to activate or deactivate FAST/KOS functions based on personal preference. If you see a vehicle with a complaint related to specific FAST/KOS functions, before starting diagnosis, first confirm if only select features are involved, then check to see if that feature is active in the system. The customer is able to set the functions using the SET menu and may have inadvertently changed the settings.

Press the "SET" button at the lower left of the unit.
From the touch screen, select "Equipment.
At this point, selecting "Reset All" at the bottom of the screen will turn all features ON. To continue checking the current settings, use the scroll arrows to locate and select Keyless Operation System.
Select Door Entry & Engine Start Function. In this screen you can check what selections are active (current selection is outlined in yellow) and determine if further diagnosis is necessary. Or you can change the functions to whatever settings the customer desires.

If you make changes You will see a confirmation screen that reads "Changing the set values," and your chosen settings are displayed.

Now recheck for the original complaint. If it still exists, diagnose as per the service manual.
