Rear Axle Total Backlash Check

Shift the shift lever to the Neutral position, pull the parking brake lever, and then raise the vehicle using a jack.
Fully turn the propeller shaft clockwise, and place the mating marks on the companion flange dust cover and differential carrier.

Fully turn the propeller shaft counterclockwise, and measure the travel distance of mating marks.
Limit: 6 mm(0.2 inch)

If the backlash exceeds the limit, replace the differential carrier assembly.
