SERVICE INFORMATION

Keyless Entry Registration - 2007 Outlander . If you have difficulties registering the "standard" (non-FAST Key) keyless entry transmitters for the 2007 Outlander, use these instructions below, or those in the service manual, while making sure you do not rush the procedures. Timing is important so make sure you do the procedures within the time interval (number of seconds) indicated in the instructions.

MUT-III METHOD

NOTE: When adding or replacing a key, ALL keys and RKE transmitters previously registered must be reregistered.

Hook-up the MUT-III and turn the ignition key on.
On the MUT-III main menu, select System select.
Select From 2006MY then click on the car icon at the bottom of the screen.
Select the eraser icon at the bottom of the screen then select the VIN.
Select the auto VIN icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Select Class then select the appropriate class. Then select the check mark.
NOTE: The class can be found on the Vehicle Information Code Plate riveted to the bottom of the passengers side B-pillar.
Verify the VIN is correct and select the check mark.
Select F.A.S.T./IMMO/Keyless/TPMS from the System select menu. Then select the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
Select Special Function.
Select Keyless ID Reg.
Input password 8A42 and select the check mark at the bottom of the screen.
IMPORTANT: The following step must be performed within four seconds of selecting the check mark in step 11.
Starting with the ignition key, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the RKE transmitter for approximately one second.
Release both the lock and unlock buttons for 0.5 seconds.
Press and release the unlock button.
NOTE: As the RKE transmitters are registered, the number of Keyless IDs registered will increase and the number of IDs will display on the MUT-III screen.
Perform steps 12-14 above on all other keys to be registered to the vehicle. A total of eight keys can be registered.
Select the check mark at the bottom of the screen once all RKE transmitters have been registered.
Verify the number of Keyless IDs Registered on the MUT-III.
Turn the key off, remove from the ignition and disconnect the MUT-III.
Verify all RKE transmitters operate properly.

OWNER'S MANUAL METHOD

The Owner's Manual instructions for registering additional RKE transmitters can also be used, but again, it is very important to pay close attention to the full time allowance. Simply counting out the number of 'seconds' may not allow sufficient time for the procedures to complete successfully. Using a stopwatch to make sure you give yourself enough time to complete the registration is highly recommended.
