Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

CAUTION: All data will be lost when DTCs are cleared. Record data that may be needed later, such as freeze frame data, before erasing DTCs.
NOTE: Obtain radio anti-theft code before disconnecting battery. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle.

To clear DTCs using a scan tool, refer to owner's manual supplied with scan tool. Ensure DTCs do not reset. Start and warm up engine. Run vehicle through appropriate drive cycle(s). See VERIFYING REPAIRS  . Check for DTCs to confirm repair.

NOTE: A drive cycle is when engine goes from start to stop and component is monitored in-between. The component's code set criteria must be met while the engine is operating before it will be monitored. Due to this, component may not be monitored every engine start-to-stop cycle.
