Removal And Installation: Notes
WARNING:
Before removing the steering gear box, refer to AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM
. Center the front wheels and remove the ignition key. Failure to do so may damage the SRS clock spring and render the SRS system inoperative, risking serious injury.

*: Indicates parts which should be temporarily tightened, and then fully tightened with the vehicle on the ground in an unladen condition.
For power steering hoses removal procedures, follow numbered steps in illustration. See Fig 1. For power steering hoses installation procedures, follow numbers steps in illustration in reverse order. Letters in illustration refer to service point to observe while removing and installing power steering hoses. Letters with arrows pointing away from letter refer to service points to be observed while performing that step of the removal procedure. See REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS . Letters with arrows pointing towards letter refer to service points to be observed while performing that step of the installation procedure. See INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS .
