Purge Port Vacuum Check (Mirage)

  1. Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle body (1.5L), or intake air plenum (1.8L) purge vacuum port. Connect hand vacuum pump to purge vacuum port.
  2. Start engine. Increase engine speed by racing engine. Check vacuum while increasing engine speed. Purge vacuum should remain constant regardless of increase in engine speed. If there is no vacuum, check purge port for clogging.
