Montero Sport

  1. Check caster. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS (MONTERO SPORT)  table. Difference between left, and right side should be within .5 degree. If caster is not within specification, remove shock absorber shaft mounting nuts, and compress shock absorber.
    CAUTION: Difference in shim thickness between front and rear, must not exceed .16" (4.0 mm). DO NOT use more than 4 shims at one location.
  2. Loosen upper control arm mounting bolts and nuts. Adjust caster by increasing or decreasing shims between upper control arm shaft and crossmember. See Figure. Using chart, calculate difference of measured value from standard value of camber and caster to decide how many adjusting shims to increase or decrease. See Figure.
