Test No. 1

  1. Disconnect ETACS-ECU harness connectors. Check voltage between ground and ETACS-ECU harness-side connector terminal No. 16. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check harness connector or circuit between ETACS-ECU harness connector and fuse No. 11. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary.
  2. Check for continuity between ground and ETACS-ECU harness-side connector terminals No. 1 and 56. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair appropriate circuit between ground and ETACS-ECU harness connectors.
  3. Open and close doors. If interior lights operate normally, go to next step. If interior lights do not operate, diagnose and repair interior light system. See appropriate wiring diagram in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  4. Lock and unlock doors using inside lock knob on driver-side or passenger-side door. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, diagnose power door lock system. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY & POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
  5. Perform SYSTEM INPUT TEST . If buzzer sounds and high-beam indicator light illuminates for 0.1 second when locking and unlocking rear doors using inside lock knob, replace ETACS-ECU. If buzzer does not sound during system input test or high-beam indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  6. Check door lock actuator and replace as necessary. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY & POWER DOOR LOCKS article. If actuator is okay, check harness connectors between ground and right rear assist-ECU or left rear door lock actuator. Repair as necessary. If harness connectors and circuits are okay, replace assist-ECU or ETACS-ECU.
