Test No. 5

  1. Check if right rear power window operates when using right rear switch. If power window operates, go to step  3 . If power window does not operate, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, select data list item No. 78 (power window lock switch). Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions. Also, see appropriate MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS article. If OFF is displayed on scan tool when power window lock switch is in OFF position, repair circuit between door module and right rear power window switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If OFF is not displayed on scan tool, replace door module.
  3. Disconnect right rear power window switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Set power window lock switch in UNLOCK position. Check voltage between ground and right rear switch harness-side connector terminal No. 10 (Blue wire). If battery voltage is present, go to step  5 . If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
  4. Check connector to assist-ECU, connector between right rear door harness and dash, and connector to right rear door power window switch. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, check circuit between assist-ECU and right rear door power window switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace assist-ECU.
  5. Disconnect right rear power window switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ground and switch harness-side connector terminal No. 1 (Green/Orange wire). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check connectors and circuit between power window relay and right rear power window switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  6. Check for continuity between ground and right rear power window switch harness-side connector terminal No. 7 (Black wire). Continuity should be present. If continuity is not present, go to next step.
  7. Check connector to right rear switch and connector between right rear door harness and floor harness. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, check circuit between right rear power window switch and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  8. Check right rear power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If motor is okay, check connectors to right rear power window switch and motor. If connectors are okay, check circuit between right rear power window switch and motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If circuits are okay, replace right rear power window switch.
