Test No. 1: Eclipse

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, perform input switch signal test. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions. If scan tool buzzer sounds when ignition switch is turned on, go to next step. If scan tool buzzer does not sound, check circuit between ignition switch and ETACS-ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  2. Check power window relay. See POWER WINDOW RELAY  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If relay is okay, check power window main switch and sub-switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If power window main switch is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check right and left side power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If power window motor is okay, go to next step.
  4. Remove power window relay. See Figure . Check voltage between ground and relay harness-side connector terminals No. 1 (Red/White wire) and No. 5 (Red/White wire). See Figure . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check connectors and circuit between power window relay and fusible link No. 9. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  5. Check circuit between power window relay and ETACS-ECU. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, check circuit between power window relay, power main switch and sub-switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  6. Remove and disconnect harness connector from power window main switch. Check for continuity between ground and power window main switch harness-side connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check connectors and circuit between power window main switch and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  7. Disconnect harness connector from left and right side power window motors. Check for continuity between ground and each power window motor harness-side connector terminals No. 1 and 2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity is present, replace ETACS-ECU. If continuity is not present, go to next step.
  8. Check connectors and circuit between power window main switch and left and right side power window motors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
