Test No. 2
- Verify if simplified fault diagnosis is possible. See SIMPLIFIED DIAGNOSTIC MODE under MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEM article. Diagnose if necessary. If simplified fault diagnosis is possible, go to next step.
- Install Scan Tool (MB991502) to DLC. Set scan tool to switch diagnosis mode. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions. Operate power window main switch. If scan ETACS-ECU buzzer sounds and high beam indicator illuminates for 0.1 second, go to next step. If buzzer does not sound and high beam indicator does not illuminate, replace door module (located on left front) door.
- Disconnect door module harness connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ground and door module harness-side connector terminal No. 1 (Blue wire). If battery voltage is present, go to step 5). If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
- Check connectors and circuit between power window relay and door module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair if necessary.
- Check front left power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If power window motor is okay, check connectors to door module and left front power window motor. Repair if necessary. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
- Check circuit between door module and left front power window motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair if necessary. If circuit is okay, disconnect door module harness connector. Check continuity between ground and door module harness-side connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). If continuity is present, replace door module. If continuity is not present, go to next step.
- Check harness connector to door module. Repair if necessary. If connector is okay, check and repair circuit between door module and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
