CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.

  2. Connect a jumper wire between left door ajar switch connector (Tan wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace left door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 1 (Tan wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, repair open in Tan wire between BCM connector and left door ajar switch connector. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
