Sensor Resistance Test
- Before testing sensor resistance, ensure pole piece-to-wheel speed sensor tip is clean. Check wheel sensor pole piece for damage. If pole piece is damaged, replace sensor.
- Disconnect sensor connector. Inspect sensor wiring harness for broken and pinched wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair harness as necessary. If harness is okay, go to next step.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance across sensor terminals. Resistance for front sensors should be 900-1100 ohms on 1995 vehicles, or 1400-1800 ohms on 1996 vehicles. Resistance for rear sensors should be 1300-1500 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to GROUND CIRCUIT TEST. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
