Code P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit Fault
NOTE:
For component terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
in this article. For appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
section.
- Connect test harness (MD998478) between crankshaft position sensor and harness connector. Measure voltage between terminal No. 2 (Black clip) and ground. Voltage should be .4-4.0 volts, while cranking engine and 1.5-2.5 volts with engine idling. If voltage is not within specification, go to next step. If voltage is within specification, replace PCM.
- Disconnect crankshaft position sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between position sensor connector terminal No. 3 (Red wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring harness between MFI relay connector and crankshaft position sensor.
- Measure voltage between position sensor connector terminal No. 2 (Blue/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check PCM connector and wiring harness between crankshaft position sensor connector and PCM. If connector and wiring is okay, replace PCM.
- Check continuity between position sensor connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and ground. If continuity exists, check crankshaft position sensor connector. If connector is okay, replace crankshaft position sensor. If continuity does not exist, check wiring harness between crankshaft position sensor and ground.
