Code 16: Power Supply

  1. Disconnect ECU harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ECU harness connector terminals No. 1 and 2 and vehicle ground. See Figure . Voltage should be battery voltage. If voltage is not within specification, inspect and repair circuits between fuses No. 1 and 20 and ECU.
  2. Conduct performance test on alternator. Ensure output is 13.9-14.9 volts at 68°F (20°C). Repair charging system as needed. If after all tests have been completed system still does not function properly, substitute ECU with known good unit and retest system.
