Trouble Shooting

Verify customer complaint by operating power-window system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Inspect for blown fuses and damaged relays. Inspect for loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harnesses and/or switches. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If fault is found, repair as necessary. If no fault is found, perform test on suspect components. See COMPONENT TESTING  .

1. None of the glasses can be opened or closed.Check the following:
   • Check the fusible link No. 7.
   • Check the power window relays. Check the power window main switches.
2. Some, but not all, of the door glasses cannot be opened or closed. They do not operate even if both the power window main and sub switches are pressed.
   • Check the power window main switch. Check the power window motor which does not operate.
3. They do not operate. Only when either the main or sub switch is pressed, but do operate when both are pressed. Check the power window switch which does not operate.
4. If the one-touch switch function only does not work, replace the power window main switch.
